About our Speakers
Christiana Figueres is a globally recognized climate leader, co-host of Outrage + Optimism, and former Executive Secretary of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). She played a pivotal role in steering the negotiations that led to the historic 2015 Paris Agreement. A Costa Rican diplomat, Figueres has been instrumental in shaping international climate policy for decades, advocating for sustainable development, renewable energy, dealing with drought and desertification, and global cooperation.
As a founding partner of Global Optimism, she continues to champion bold climate action. She is the co-author of The Future We Choose: Surviving the Climate Crisis and serves as chair of The Earthshot Prize Foundation, driving innovation for environmental solutions. Figueres has advised major organizations on sustainability and served on multiple corporate and nonprofit boards, including Impossible Foods, Acciona, and the World Resources Institute.
Her leadership has earned her global recognition, including Time 100, the Dan David Prize, and numerous honorary doctorates. With a relentless commitment to optimism and action, she continues to inspire and mobilize efforts for a more sustainable and resilient planet.
Mário César Martins de Camargo, Rotary International’s 2025-26 president, is a seasoned leader in the print industry and an advocate for environmental action. He has served on numerous trade association boards and led Casa da Esperança, a medical center treating over 200,000 patients annually. Known as Membership Mário, he is committed to strengthening Rotary’s global impact. His presidential theme, Unite for Good, emphasizes collaboration in a divided world. A strong proponent of sustainability, he helped establish the environment as a Rotary focus and sees great opportunities for engagement at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, November 2025.“Printers have a mission to reduce ignorance.” He and his wife, Denise, are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.
