Gert-Jan will inspire you to take action and EndPlasticSoup. The global environmental initiative to solve the plastic pollution problem and establish sustainable change across the full cycle: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to establish a circular economy for plastics. Gert-Jan will present the worldwide River projects and the approach: Awareness & education, Action in your personal life, as a Club in your local community and supporting worldwide projects, and Alliances, working together inside and outside Rotary to accelerate solutions.

Gert-Jan’s Bio: Gert-Jan van Dommelen is an experienced program manager and was consulting leader technology services Benelux for IBM Corporation. He is co-founder of EndPlasticSoup. Gert-Jan is passionate about the circular economy, next generation living, learning and building a future of inclusiveness, people matter in his hometown and abroad. He is a Paul Harris fellow, international manager for the Exceptional School Global Grant (340 K USD) at Sint Maarten, Past President 2019-2020 of RC Huizen-Gooimeer, D1570 NL, and honored Member of the Dutch Royal Order of Oranje Nassau.

Bricia’s Bio: Dr Bricia ElAwar, who is Chair of The Initiative of Cleaning the Río Grande (El Río Bravo), has been deeply involved with Rotary. She is a member of Rotary Club San Bernardino Crossroad District 5330 and is its current Club International Chair 2021-22. Her past positions include Club Foundation Chair 2020-21, Club Vocational Chair 2019-20, Assistant Governor 2018-19, Club President 2017-18, and PETS (President Elect Training Seminar) Chair Partner Program 2018.
