Description

On Saturday 6 July 2019, a fine and sunny day, Hampton Rotarians, partners and friends together with Rotarians from Beaumaris, Cheltenham and Sandringham planted 200 trees, bushes and succulents and watered them in under the supervision of Citywide, the Bayside Council’s horticultural contractors. Wind protection sleeves were added as an additional task.

This day may become an annual event. It stems from a request by Past Rotary International President, Ian Riseley, who during his Presidential Year, challenged Rotarians worldwide to each plant one tree as a project to build a more sustainable planet.
