As the ESRAG Regional Chapter Chair, Caroline brings visionary leadership and a robust track record in environmental advocacy and sustainability initiatives. With extensive experience in strategic planning, stakeholder communication, and international project management, Caroline DeWitt has successfully led climate change and sustainability efforts across North America and the Caribbean.

Key Projects & Achievements:

  • Environmental Project Fair: Launched a new Environmental Project Fair in Sarasota, Florida, engaging 375 ESRAG ENA members and collaborating with ten Rotary clubs from eight districts for a successful three-day event.
  • Grant Tracking Database: Developed a database to track district/global grants, identifying environmental projects across Rotary.
  • Regional Environmental Efforts: Partnered with Rotary Action Groups (RAGs) in the Caribbean and North America to enhance regional environmental efforts.
  • Microforests Stewardship: Organized the Microforests stewardship activity with the Rotary Club of Sarasota, marking the close of our ESRAG ENA environmental project fair.
  • Paul Harris Fellow Recognition: Recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for dedicated service and significant contributions to community betterment, with a focus on international disaster relief.
  • Climate Change and Sustainability Initiatives: Led climate change and sustainability engagement initiatives to raise awareness and drive action on carbon footprint reduction and climate emissions.
  • RCWO Environmental Committee: Co-chaired the RCWO’s Environmental Committee, implementing a series of climate-friendly activities that earned the club a Silver Award for environmental efforts.
  • Tree Planting and Community Support: Collaborated with the City of Ottawa to plant over 400 trees, organize a Repair Café, and support community efforts to reduce landfill waste.
  • Financial Contributions and Campaigns: Spearheaded financial contributions to the Ottawa Riverkeeper campaign and supported the D 7040 No Mow May campaign to promote pollinator health.
  • Youth Forest and Earth Day Initiatives: Actively participated in the Ottawa Rotary Youth Forest’s Find a Home Global Grant project and led the Earth Day annual cleanup of the Great Lakes Watershed under the UN Adopt-a-River Initiative.

Caroline holds a Master’s in Economics from York University and has received executive training in Project Management. Recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow, Caroline continues to drive impactful environmental initiatives, fostering collaboration and inspiring teams to achieve ESRAG’s organizational goals.
