What is COP28 UAE?

COP or the United Nations Conference of the Parties is a group of nations (parties) that have signed the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It is the supreme decision-making body of the international convention.

Annually held since 1995, the 28th edition COP28 UAE will take place from 30 November to 12 December 2023 at Expo City, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

As the world’s highest decision-making process on climate issues, world leaders will gather to work together on solutions.

COP28 will be based around four pillars: -Fast-tracking the energy transition, -Fixing climate finance, -Focusing on people and -Making inclusivity a hallmark of the Summit in Dubai it is expected to host over 70,000 delegates including Heads of State and world leaders to build consensus and facilitate progress on climate action among 198 countries, the European Union and thousands of non-government organizations, companies, youth groups. Rotary International first participated in COP26 where we added the Organizations’ 7th Area of Focus – THE ENVIRONMENT.
